Homeostasis
In accordance to the syllabus the required knowledge for this chapter is, the definition and necessity of Homeostasis.
Homeostasis: Is an organism's ability to maintain a constant internal environment.
The importance of Homeostasis:
- Allows organisms to function efficiently as homeostasis provides ideal conditions for metabolic reactions in the body.
- Allows an organism to function independently of the surrounding environment e.g. they do not have to migrate to warmer climates in winter
- Homeostasis can provide an adaptable internal environment for chemical reaction in the body.
